New Haven is a private boarding school and residential treatment center for young women in grades 7–12, accredited by COGNIA. We are currently seeking a hands-on, Yoga teacher to join our team at our program in Spanish Fork. This is a unique opportunity to work in a small, nurturing, and highly collaborative teaching environment where innovation and creativity are encouraged.

Responsibilities

  • Instructional Process: Tailor instruction to meet the diverse needs of students, fostering enthusiasm for learning and supporting their academic progress.
  • Curriculum Development: Stay abreast of educational best practices and contribute to curriculum enhancement efforts.
  • Classroom Management: Implement effective classroom management strategies to promote a safe and conducive learning environment.
  • Public Relations: Cultivate positive relationships with students, parents, and colleagues, advocating for the school's mission and values.
  • Professional Growth: Pursue ongoing professional development opportunities to enhance teaching effectiveness and stay updated on industry trends.
  • Student Evaluation: Assess student performance using various methods and provide constructive feedback to support their growth.
  • Administrative Assistance: Collaborate with the Academic Director to manage administrative tasks and support the overall functioning of the department.

Qualifications

  • Strong subject matter knowledge and familiarity with diverse teaching methodologies.
  • Effective communication skills for engaging with students, parents, and colleagues.
  • Basic proficiency in word processing and organizational abilities.
  • Flexibility and adaptability to address the individual needs of students.
  • Preferred, but not required: Certificates in fitness instruction and prior teaching experience.

Education and Experience:

While a current Utah teaching license is not required, experience in physical education instruction and familiarity with fitness exercises are beneficial. Teaching experience, including student teaching, is preferred but not mandatory.
