Shift: Monday through Friday, 8am-2pm (30 hours a week)

New Haven serves adolescent girls (ages 14–18) and their families through trauma-informed, relationship-based care. With campuses in Spanish Fork and Saratoga Springs, we offer a warm, home-like setting that blends therapeutic support with accredited academics. Our focus areas include trauma recovery, family systems, emotional regulation, and mental health.

Responsibilities

  • Meal Preparation: Cook nutritious lunches and dinners Monday–Friday for students, staff, and teachers, accommodating dietary restrictions.
  • Breakfast & Weekend Planning: Organize breakfast items for daily use and stock pantry with weekend meals and recipes for staff.
  • Special Events: Prepare meals for Parent Weekends, graduations, and other meaningful occasions.
  • Food Procurement: Shop for groceries and manage food orders through vendors.
  • Budget Oversight: Maintain and track the home’s food budget with care and efficiency.
  • Kitchen Management: Ensure the kitchen is clean, organized, and compliant with safety and sanitation standards.
  • Culinary Expertise: Apply knowledge of nutrition, food safety, and time management to deliver high-quality meals.

Qualifications

  • Minimum Requirements: Must be 21+, with a high school diploma or equivalent, valid driver’s license, reliable transportation, and the ability to pass a Utah State background check.
  • Food Safety Knowledge: Holds a current Food Handler’s Permit or ServSafe certification and understands health codes and sanitation standards.
  • Nutrition Awareness: Demonstrates a solid understanding of nutrition and dietary needs.
  • Culinary Experience: Skilled in preparing meals for large groups, including those with dietary restrictions.
  • Budget & Ordering Skills: Experienced in managing food budgets and ordering from food service vendors.
  • Positive Presence: Builds strong, supportive relationships with students and staff.
  • Organized & Reliable: Dependable, detail-oriented, and committed to maintaining a safe, clean kitchen environment.
