MENTOR
Are you passionate about guiding adolescent girls toward their full potential? Studying psychology, behavioral science, social work, or a related field? If so, New Haven offers a fulfilling and invaluable opportunity in the clinical realm!
New Haven is a residential treatment center dedicated to adolescents aged 14-18 and their families. With campuses in Utah's Spanish Fork and Saratoga Springs, we offer a nurturing, homely atmosphere where we blend residential treatment with advanced academics. Our expertise lies in addressing complex issues such as traumatic stress, family dynamics, relationship challenges, mental health concerns, and more, all with a focus on family-centered healing.
Role
Are you ready to embark on a fulfilling journey as a Youth Mentor at New Haven? While the role may seem multifaceted, it's far more than just babysitting. Join us in a role that's both rewarding and challenging, where you'll play a vital part in the lives of our students, helping them grow and thrive.
As a Youth Mentor, your day-to-day life is centered around nurturing, guiding, and supporting the girls in our care. You become a beacon of support for their physical, emotional, and social well-being. Your time is largely spent engaging in various activities with our teen students, ranging from cultural outings to culinary adventures, outdoor explorations, and more. Amidst these exciting activities, your role is to ensure the safety and well-being of our students, promoting an environment of trust and personal growth.
Building Lasting Relationships
Spending quality time with our teens allows you to cultivate strong and meaningful staff-student relationships. These connections are essential as they play a pivotal role in the progress and development of each student within our program. You become a mentor, a friend, and a source of inspiration, guiding them towards a brighter future.
WORK SCHEDULE
Our Youth Mentors are required to work a minimum of 24 hours a week on their scheduled shifts, including their 2 Sundays a month. They can work up to 30 hours if desired. The shifts can be any day and AM/PM. They are not expected to be on call 24/7.
The shifts are as follows:
Monday, Wednesday, Friday, 7:00 am- 3:00 pm; 3:00 pm - 11:00 pm.
Tuesday, Thursday, Saturday 7:00 am -3:00 pm; 3:00 pm - 11:00 pm
